I'm not sure where to start to express my gratitude and satisfaction with Jane's expert guidance through the process of buying an ancient Manor House in the midst of the pandemic. From the start, Jane was professional, patient and good humoured, guiding four buyers on two continents through the intricacies of acquiring the house of our dreams. Her patience explaining everything in detail is limitless and always with kindness and humor. She is well equipped with local contacts for non-French speakers and goes well beyond the framework of a “normal” real estate agent.Considering all of the above, the only negative thing I can think of is that Jane will be so busy we won't be able to lure her over for dinner! My experience with Jane at Agence Thom was wonderful.I contacted Jane at the beginning of COVID. From our first conversation, she had her work cut out for her; we were two couples, one in the USA and one in Italy trying to buy a house in a part of France they had never been to during a pandemic. None of us spoke French.As soon as I spoke to Jane, I knew that I was in good hands. She translated documents for us, gave us video house tours, and had multiple Zoom conversations with us. Additionally, she connected us with an English-speaking notaire who took care of our title, necessary documents, and finances. As we could not travel to France for the closing, Jane went in our stead.With Jane's help, not only were we able to buy a beautiful house in France under impossible conditions, but we gained a friend.

Wow, what a helpful, thoughtful and professional organisation. Purchased a house through these guys and it could not have been a nicer and easier way to buy in France. Stella and Ed could have not been more helpful. Their knowledge has been so helpful. Could not recommend them highly enough.

Dreadful service, emailed to make an appointment, 24 hours later chased up appointment only to be told they can see us in the afternoon the following week, when we specified in the email we could only view anytime in the morning. Yes we had read receipts for the emailed appointment requests! The woman who does the bookings is not in today, the woman who does the viewings said she does not know about the enquiry and can only has 1 time slot! You offered me appointments that did not fit into our timescale but to fit yours and as a customer I found your service totally unacceptable. We are free from 9-11am as we have another viewing At another property 3 hours drive away and have to leave at 11 latest. Your attitude was that we should change our plans to accommodate you! I do hope you inform the vendor as we were prepared to make an offer in that property as we are in France to buy 3 properties in total. Congratulations you have cost the vendor a sale! The booking was emailed to Leggett not French-property. As for hanging up, I was on a mobile in a poor reception area and I lost the signal. It’s a shame that you didn’t provide the prompt service required, compared to the ultra fast service in replying to your google review! Absolutely appalling company. AVOID.

La gérante nous a trouvé 3 artisans en moins d'une semaine, et quelques jours plus tard, le rdv était prévu ce qui nous a beaucoup aidé. Je recommande vivement !

Can't thank Jane enough for getting our sale through despite the lockdown in France. Her efforts working from home and the notaire working from home saved the day. Very sad we have sold our little house in France, but relieved we have got it sorted.

I cannot recommend Agence Thom highly enough. Selling a property can be such a stressful time, especially if you are in a different country and do not speak the language too well. Ed and Stella took all those worries and difficulties away. If I had any questions or paperwork, they were always there, whether I phoned, emailed or messaged them. Wow, what a pleasure to meet an estate agent who tells you accurately what the market is doing without the frothy gloss.I set up a meeting with Hayley Gilks from agencethom.com to discuss selling my house in St Pierre des Landes, Mayenne, and was given an accurate, in depth appraisal of the housing market and drop in sales values over the recent past. When the time for an assessment of the potential marketing price came I was expecting a very low figure but her view was the property had a higher value to the right buyer.I went along with her figures and fully expected a call suggesting a price drop. This never came and after 6 months (a very short time for selling in France) she called to say she had two potential buyers, one Belgian and one French. It was decision time and on Hayleys advice I opted for the young French couple. Negotiations were difficult for her but her negotiating skills soon became clear and she brought the sale through with an offer of the full asking price plus agency and notaire fees. The only concession made was a sharing of wood parasite treatment that showed up on one of the mandatory surveys.The whole experience only came to fruition because of Hayley's very accurate people skills and a brilliant "can do" negotiating attitude. All praise for a job well done.My initial contact with the agency owner Mrs Jane Thom made it clear that I was dealing with a well informed professional organisation and solid and accurate advice was given when providing information to the notaire.

Stella and Mark were absolutely amazing. They were so professional and helpful. They also put themselves out to allow me to visit a bouse, despite increasingly busy workloads. There was no pressure and from start to finish an amazing experience.
