Deciding type, brand & color of flooring along with selling our home, the purchase of a new home and scheduling new flooring installations, (before our official move in date), all at the same time!... was a bit stressful to say the least. Showroom manager, Dashaun Smith, at the Apple Valley location was the best. His knowledge of the many flooring choices available was very helpful to us in deciding which ones would be best for us. Dashaun stayed on top of this entire process by coordinating with suppliers, installers & our new home closing dates to expedite our official move in date. We always had easy access to him thru email or via phone with a quick response. Working with Dashaun defiantly removed a tremendous amount of stress on us as we worked thru this process. There is no doubt in our minds that this young man will have a long & successful career to look forward to!
The beginning service was good, but after installation and having scratches within a week on the floor and when I asked how to resolve it was told to contact manufacturer's, but contact information was never given prior, during or after installation.Several month later Flooring Expo finally worked with me on scratches the new flooring had within a year of installation and apparently manufacturer declined the claim stating that they do not cover scratches and wear.. Wear? Less than a year old flooring, which is priced well above average? I was recommended to hire an independent inspector and they will be happy to reopen the claim. What a joke. Apparently Flooring Expo selling low quality flooring at the higher price, might as well go to Menards or Home Depot as quality is the same or who knows might be even better for less money.

I have worked with DaShaun at the Apple Valley location on a number of our rental properties and flips. The three man install Team was awesome. They arrived at the appointed time and immediately went to work after we verified the flooring and dis a walk through of the project. They went to work carefully removing the baseboards and pulled up the old flooring. There was some sub floor repair and the new flooring was professionally installed. They cleaned up beautifully. Thank you!

after taking time to educate myself on types of carpet, contacted the popular 5 carpet sellers. was quoted different measurements from 700 800 two at 900 and one at 1000 I understand there will be some waste. Some of the vendors tried to steer me toward what they say is their best seller, not what I wanted. gave them the style color manufacture's #, I wanted. one told me they couldn't even get it, though the sell Shaw? After taking months to decide and getting a few different measurements I thought we'll just keep out 30-year-old carpet Was returning a sample to Apple Valley Carpet King met Margaret told her about my not so good expiations, she took the time to ask me what kind of issues I was having, measurement's concerns how carpet would be laid down, where seams would be, how much needed. She took my info I had, I left the store, 20 minutes later Margaret called told me carpet availability time frame and price, about same price as others, measurement came in at 828 square feet. Customer service a lost expectation, now days. Margaret has excellent customer service abilities. Glad I didn't keep the old 30 year carpet after seeing what it looked like when taken up. purchased Shaw state of mind natural beauty spill proof backing also upgraded to a spill proof thicker padding, after Margaret showed me the padding choice's, very very important part of having a durable soft base for carpet, cost a little more, but will make carpet life easier. Carpet is in looks beautiful and feels super soft. Have a lot more to say. Josh and Margaret know I love to BS also, would like to thank Josh and Deshaun and the 3 men Install crew

Exceptional Service! It is not often I leave reviews as typically I have high expectations from all I do business with. That said, my experience at Floor Expo and specifically Margaret, would be the exception. I had been shopping floor products for a few months and visited countless floor centers across the metro area, including some home Improvement places (Lowes/HD). I was not impressed with what I found, however I did learn a few things in terms of what I “didn’t want”. The most frustrating thing being I couldn’t decide on a particular product, style and color and clearly was not getting assistance from other floor reps. I had one last place to visit and then told myself I would have to force a decision. So I stopped in at Floor Expo in Apple Valley and met Margaret. I explained my situation and she walked me through all the different products which helped me make a solid decision. At that point, she really stepped up and offered her opinion on color trends. She asked about the layout and design of the four rooms I was covering and shared her opinion (which I trusted more than my own). We were both leaning towards one in particular, but she recommended I take home four samples to make sure I was comfortable. The next day I returned the samples and placed the order with the color we initially chose. After I placed the order, Margaret kept me up to date in terms of when the order would arrive to the store. I was surprised how fast everything came together, especially with current supply chain issues. The turn-around time was half of which I was quoted from other floor centers. The only hitch was a one week delay at the Canadian border in which Margaret phoned me twice providing an update. If it wasn’t for Margaret, I think I would still be looking for flooring. She defines professionalism, follows though and so easy to work with. She is a true Gem! You are lucky to have her! --Bill R

I'm a rental property owner under a tight timeframe coordinating several contractors to get a vacated property back in condition to rent. The unit needed a complete overhaul, and the vendor I used for carpet in the past was 6 weeks out. I went to Carpet King in Apple Valley to see what they could do, with my quote from the other vendor. I worked with Margaret Barnard, and she was very helpful in coming up with colors I was looking for in the price range I was looking for. After a few follow up emails, we settled on a color, and had a "next day" appointment scheduled for a measure. The price quote was right in line with the competitor, and my install was scheduled for the following week, 5 weeks ahead of the other vendor. The install went ahead without any issues and the carpet looks great. I highly recommend Carpet King of Apple Valley as they really look to take care of your needs. Tim
Harris was pleasant to work with who helped us select and measure my room to reduce unnecessary footage and cost which I asked for, so I expected some carpet pattern mismatch at the back room carpet seam during installation. Margaret also smoothly transitioned in to keep me up to date with my carpet order and the install date when Harris took some vacation time. Miguel and Eric performed my carpet install above expectations. They were on time and kept me up to date on their day when exactly I should expect them to arrive. The carpet replacement in my media room included a pattern as I mentioned expecting due to my decision to reduce cost. However, Miguel and Eric was able to figure out a way to install my carpet with NO pattern mismatch in the entire media room! I could see Miguel and Eric taking the extra time and energy required to mentally figure out the best way to perform their best quality work and it definitely shows! I hope Miguel and Eric both also receive some type of recognition from corporate because they definitely deserve something a little extra. A company's quality and price value of their product is fully realized only when it is delivered and installed properly! Miguel and Eric, thanks again and keep up the amazing work!

Great service and experience. Josh worked with us to get the carpet we were looking for, walking us through options, and making sure we were taking care of. Manuel and his partner did an excellent job of installation and even took care of the squeaks we had in the floor. I would definitely choose this business again!
Dashaun was very helpful and friendly when we came in. He was very professional and helped us find what we were looking for. I would recommend stopping in and visiting him.

We recently purchased carpeting for our family room. The experience was good all the way through. Josh and the store manager were helpful and gave input on which carpeting is good for pets. Josh kept us informed of the timeline. We wanted more cushion than our current carpet had. The cost was very reasonable.The contract explained everything. A nice feature is the lifetime warranty on the installation. The installers (Josh and his partner) were on time and very professional. The carpeting looks great and is cushiony. We will buy from Flooring Expo next time we need carpeting.

Terrible Experience. Stair Carpet. I’d avoid in the future. The installers arrived with a van full of carpet rolls and asked me to come and pick out my carpet because they didn’t know what roll was ours. There was a van full of carpet and I had to help unroll carpet to find ours. Unprofessional start. We shared how we wanted the stairs to be one piece into the landing. Now we have a weird detail with a piece of wood showing between the stair and landing. They tried to correct this, but were unsuccessful. Based off the suggestion from our sales rep, we told the installers to measure the carpet off an architectural detail. We showed them where to measure off of. When the new runner arrived, it’s clear they measured wrong. The installer starts to install the runner. Customer support blamed it on a miscommunication and said to keep the runner wide (even though it looks worse and it was their suggestion to come off the architectural detail). At the end of the install they discover after installing over 3/4 of the stairs that there is a defect with the carpet. He tells me he has to rip it out. I ask if it can stay temporarily since we have a crawling baby - they said no. He begins to rip it out. As he rips it out, he starts to pull off our stair finish boards (these are still not fixed). I have to help him pull off the carpet to reduce further damage. Since they installed the runner too wide, we have fresh holes and staples in our newly finished wood floors. They left the site without cleaning up. There are exposed staples and we have a baby that just learned to crawl. We get to wait 6 weeks for new carpet to arrive. They never sent anyone to cleanup.

Great service and experience. Josh worked with us to get the carpet we were looking for, walking us through options, and making sure we were taking care of. Manuel and his partner did an excellent job of installation and even took care of the squeaks we had in the floor. I would definitely choose this business again!

*buyers beware* This is has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We were on a shortened timeline for getting carpet installed, which is why we went with Carpet King in the first place. They assured us that the carpet we picked could be delivered before we moved into our new house. Fast forward a month and a half - the wrong carpet was ordered multiple times. Phone calls to the store went un-returned. Promised timelines were not met. My husband and I had to move all of our belongings into our garage because the carpet was not installed when it was supposed to. I reached out to customer service outlining our experience and the manager had the audacity to say "as you can imagine, reordering the carpet in the correct style/color did not leave any opportunity for profit on your order". It seems the sales people will say whatever they need to in order to make the sale and then will leave you hanging when things don't go as planned.

One of the worst sales people I've ever experienced. We walked in and were so overwhelmed with the unorganized options. We described what we were looking for seeking guidance throughout the store and we were shown 1 section with the most expensive carpet options. We kept pushing describing what we wanted; receiving little to no response or direction. We were then shown 1 piece of carpet but were told the only sample to see a gray color was not in the store. We were interested in using a smaller company than the big box stores but our experience here made us realize it wasn't worth it.

We’ve had a terrible experience with Carpet King. We purchased bathroom flooring & a bathroom countertop. The biggest issue from the start has been the massive lack of communication. My husband has had to call and email multiple times to get timelines, and has needed to reschedule BOTH installs due to the teams just showing up at our house without notice and a lack of communication on what we needed to do to prep for the installs. If you’re looking for a project to take MONTHS instead of weeks, give you headaches every couple of weeks, and just generally piss you off, please call Carpet King and schedule your appointment today!

I went out of the Maple Grove store and was lied to by my salesmen about my vinyl product having a pad on it. When I got my vinyl and discover it did not have a pad as promised, I was blamed and told “I should have known what I was ordering” even though I confirmed three times it would come with a pad on the panels. He then tried to make me pay for a pad (additional $1,300) I went directly to corporate and they gave me a pad for free, but would not offer an additional discount for the labor cost I now had to pay to have the pad installed and once again blamed me for “not knowing the product” and told me “they already lost too much money on my products.” Mind you- I spent $6,600 with them on my flooring. I’ve never heard someone blame a customer like this before then say their bottom line wasn’t met- that isn’t my fault. Train your sales team to know your product and discount appropriately, don’t ever blame your clients. Now on to the carpet purchase- carpet came in correct, as did the pad. The installer came, seemed nice, but I told them to call me 30 minutes before they were done so I could come check their work since I had such a nightmare with my vinyl. I left them three phone numbers to call in the off chance i was on a work call and couldn’t answer. Six hours later, I still had not heard. I called the installer and he said “oh sorry I forgot. It’s done though.” When I went to check the carpet when I got home, it was freezing in my basement (it’s 15 degrees outside at this point.) The installers LEFT MY BASEMENT WINDOW OPEN in the middle of winter!!! Thank god I went and checked it out since we are getting 5 inches of snow today and it got to -1 last night. Overall, I am so incredibly disappointed in CarpetKing from the installers, store, and corporate level. I will never ever recommend them to anyone. Save your money and go use it on a company that truly cares about their clients outcome and happiness!

DO NOT PAY IN FULL UNTIL YOUR FINAL PROJECT IS COMPLETE. They will do everything in their power to ghost you. The shop at home salesman, Mike, came out not once, but twice to show us samples. He was very helpful and dedicated to getting the sale. On 10/23 we signed our purchase agreement to have new carpet installed in our basement (roughly 850sq ft). Once the agreement was signed and a deposit was made, I felt totally ghosted. I had to get in touch with Mike to see what the status of the carpet was, after waiting about a week and a half. I promptly received a call from scheduling, and we scheduled an install for 11/13. Installers arrived at 8 am. Ripped up all of the pre existing carpet and prepped the floors only to find out they were short about 2 feet of carpet and couldn’t finish the job. The installers couldn’t get a hold of their supervisor. So I called several numbers trying to reach someone to figure out what the solution was going to be. Guliana, the customer service rep, was unapologetic and just said they would come back and fix what was left undone. However, they had to order new more carpet that would be coming from GA. Once again, I had to call to figure out when the carpet was going to be ready for install. I was told it would arrive on 11/19 and could be installed on 11/20. Great! Nope. On 11/19, I received a voicemail confirming that the installers would call me between 7 & 9 am on 11/20 to confirm their arrival time. At 10 am- and no call- I once again had to track someone down to figure out what was going on. Only to find out that there was a delay with the truck and our carpet wasn’t going to be unloaded off the truck until Monday or Tuesday of next week. Due to the holidays and my work schedule, being unable to take time off- we are now looking at a install date of 12/4. 6 weeks from the start of this project and 3 weeks from the first install. Guliana is less than helpful nor apologetic. The only solution he offered was to have people come to my home while we are out of town to finish the install. In what world would anyone think that is an appropriate solution??? Mike, has also ghosted us. He literally leaves you on read if you text him, and won’t answer your calls. Don’t waste your time or money with them.

Terrible installation. Stairs had to be redone . Pad didn’t cover whole step. Very few tacks were holding carpet on each step . Definite flaws in carpet yet they still installed it . 2nd install did it correct . They were suppose to bring new silver transition strips, he said he didn’t know anything about it . Scheduled a few days later as he was very busy that day .... he never showed up . When he did come out he had 2 transition strips that matched out of the 3 I needed. Youd think he’d put the 2 that matched at the bathrooms that were on the same floor and the one that didn’t down in the basement laundry ! Or bring 3 that match ! But noooo! Unbelievable! Asked him why he did that and he said the carpet was too soft , what the ?!?! Communication between store and installers is horrific . Tabatha asked for photos of the flaws so I sent photos of the flaws to her. A week later she called and left a voicemail to send photos of the flaw. Still unresolved 😡 Would not refer this company ever !

Worse install experience ever. We have a 1800 square foot basement and they did not even use a power carpet stretcher. They only used a knee kicker! Seams were horrible. Had to have them come back and redo several of them the day after initial install. Now a few seams are coming apart and they will not warranty them, 3 years later. No lifetime install guarantee here. Never again will I purchase from them. Do yourself a favor and go through a small local carpet dealer instead.
The floor looks nice, but it’s going to be three days to complete the project because they had to order an extra piece, everything was covered in a thick layer of dust, we had to move all our furniture back in the house ourselves (even though we paid extra for this service), they didn’t reattach the railing, and they forgot to plug the dishwasher in after moving it. No amount taken off our bill, no promise that they will be able to fix it tomorrow. Would not recommend.
On time and quick! Would hire again.

This was my second project with Carpet King, first time around it was great. This time I had a worse experience. My carpet came in late, had to pick new carpet. The installers called on the way, they didn’t know they were moving furniture, I paid extra to have it done. They were inconsistent with masks, AND, I have some nail heads sticking out on my stairs. I’m not sure I’d go back

Carpet king was the best company to work with! They by far had the most competitive prices and the measurement process was dead on accurate! Sam was a great to work with and was so good at keeping me updated on the process!

They are amazing. The the selection and service at the Knolwood location was great. We picked the Cali VLP for our floors and it turned out stunning. I was amazed by the floor technicians that did our stairs and their attention to detail!
